All you need to do is mount it on your machine and put the handle on (screws included). Comes with protective cover that will need to be removed after you have finished mounting. Helps to protect it from scratching while you are working on it. 

Original lids had a ground pressed cardboard inside, WE USE INSULATION!  Other lids we've seen are made with plywood or particle board.
